This piece is called 'Dressing in Black and White' and stems from my fascination with positive and negative space juxtaposed with semi-abstract vs realism notions.  The figure’s pose is both poised and contemplative, which invites viewers to ponder the narrative behind the character. The choice of hairstyle and the minimalist colour palette contribute to an avant-garde aesthetic that is reminiscent of fashion illustrations. The bold use of black and white stripes immediately captures the eye and emphasizes, not only the figure but also creates a dynamic sense of rhythm and movement.

The simplification of the facial features gives an almost surreal quality, distancing the figure from realism. Overall, the impact of the piece lies in its ability to balance visual allure with deeper themes.
